Performers:
Choreographer: Mavin Khoo
Music: J S Bach mixed with Carnatic sounds
This duet was created as a one off gala item for the 'Akademi Unwrapped' conference held at the Royal Opera House, Linbury Studio, in March 2002. Mavin Khoo and Daniel Meja originally performed this piece. Mavin is now working with one male and one female ballet dancer to develop this work further in relation to transforming classicism. On completion of the research and development of this piece, Mavin plans to include the duet in the UK national tour of 'Parallel Passions' which opens on 19 September at the MAC Birmingham. This will be Mavin's first company national tour.
After the presentation there will be an opportunity for questions and discussion of the work.
