Pharmacy and Laboratory Services
The Centre has its own access restricted, air-conditioned pharmacy for the secure storage of all study medication. The drug preparation areas provide alarmed cold drug storage, and a controlled drugs cabinet. The Centre houses standardized equipment required for the preparation and storage of study samples including centrifuges with a temperature regulation of 1°C within a range of -20°C to +40°C.
The Centre also houses storage refrigerators and freezers which are closely monitored by an alarm system. It records, monitors, and controls temperatures ensuring that samples and reagents are stored at desired temperatures. In the event of any out of range temperature fluctuation, the system triggers an alarm which alerts members of the laboratory team of the deviation. All sample preparation is carried out by experienced and trained laboratory personnel.
