Applications for higher research degrees (MPhil or
PhD) are welcomed. Applicants should have a good first degree or masters
in an appropriate subject area; relevant postgraduate experience in industry
is also recognised. Three registration formats are available:
- full time study
- part time study
- collaborative (work-based research in collaboration
with the student's employer)
Most new students commence their programmes of study
in October, although it is also possible to start in January, April
or July.
We welcome enquiries from MPhil/PhD applicants who have already secured
funding for their research studies, for example government scholarships
or support from an employer. In addition, a range of funding opportunities
are normally available through the School: please
click here for details. These funding awards are made on a competitive
basis, and so we anticipate applications from the highest calibre candidates.
If you would like more information, please complete the online information
request form below or simply contact the Director of Research Studies
for the School of Engineering (Dr Sabeha Ouki at S.Ouki@surrey.ac.uk)
directly.
Application forms (in Acrobat pdf format) for MPhil
and PhD studies can be accessed online here
or can be obtained by post from the University Registry, University of
Surrey, Guildford, Surrey, GU2 7XH.
