Working and Living in Guildford
Guildford and the Surrounding Area
Guildford is only thirty minutes by rail from London and just a short drive from the M25 but it has maintained its individual character, its rural villages, riverside walks, gardens and historic buildings.
The town provides an excellent range of shops, and in the streets and lanes around the cobbled High Street there is a wealth of history to discover.

Housing
The University provides an excellent relocation package for those members of staff living outside of the 25 mile radius zone of the University. Further details can be obtained from HR when you join the University.
A useful website is: www.findaproperty.com which provides details of the area, lists current housing sales and offers a list of local estate agents.
How to Find Us
Physical access to Guildford has been improved by the provision of a regular Arriva bus service (supported by Surrey County Council, Guildford Borough Council and the University) between the campus, town centre, station and the Spectrum Leisure Centre.
Guildford itself is about 30 miles from London (the Waterloo to Guildford fast train service takes around 30 minutes) and within very easy reach of the M25, and Heathrow and Gatwick Airports.
Car Parking
Parking is restricted at the University and a parking permit scheme is in force. Full details regarding permit costs and provisions will be provided upon employment at the University.
A Pay and Display car park is available for visitors.
