Top Tips and Advice for Clearing
from UniS
A level results are due on 14 August and it needn't be the end of the
world if you don't get what you were expecting. The University of Surrey
is operating a special freephone helpline to give general advice and
answer queries on clearing. So, if you have had disappointing results
and would like advice on what to do next, help is on hand for both students
and their parents from the experts at your local university. It doesn't
matter if you were not planning to come to UniS, our friendly staff
manning the helpline are happy to advise on any aspects of clearing
and routes in to higher education. We will also be able to advise students
about specific course vacancies at UniS.
The freephone number is 0800 052 2248 and the service is open to all,
not just those with an interest in UniS. The helpline is open from 14th
August, 8am-6pm Monday to Friday and 10am-5pm on the weekend of 16 &
17 August. Alternatively you can email us on Study@surrey.ac.uk
For any students who would like some informal advice in person or for
those who would like to have a look at the University campus, staff
will be at hand on Friday 15, Saturday 16 and Monday 18 August 10am-4pm.
We should be grateful if you would ring to make an appointment in advance.
Visitors should go to the Marketing Office, Ground Floor, Senate House,
University of Surrey, Guildford, during the week or to the reception
desk in the new School of Management Building at the weekend.

Officers' Association, HELOA and edits the HELOA newsletter. John is
